Financial Analysis
The Research Workflow
Financial Analysis runs libraries of research prompts against a company through an AI provider and stores the results as editable Markdown.
Financial Analysis is the AI-assisted research side of Finance Tracker. It has three building blocks:
- Prompt libraries — reusable, editable research questions, split into a Qualitative set (management, history, products, …) and a Quantitative set (market size, growth, profitability, …). See Prompt Libraries.
- Instructions — short preamble texts that frame how the model should answer, edited under Settings. See Instructions.
- Per-company runs — from a company's row menu you open its research view and run any subset of prompts through an AI provider; results are stored per company and per prompt as Markdown you can edit. See Performing Analysis.
For the reasoning behind each qualitative prompt category — catalysts, history, management, products — see Qualitative Research.
Stages
| Stage | Prompt library | Milestone stamped |
|---|---|---|
| Qualitative Research | 29 seeded prompts | Qualitative Research date |
| Quantitative Research | 19 seeded prompts | Quantitative Research date |

AI providers
Every run lets you choose the provider:
| Provider | Model |
|---|---|
| Gemini | gemini-2.5-flash-lite |
| OpenAI | gpt-4o-mini |
Results are generated from the model's general knowledge and formatted as Markdown. They are research scaffolding, not real-time market data or investment advice.
